Bricks Holiday 15 ("Dr. Snowbeard and the Seven Dwarf Pirates") is the fifteenth edition in the world-famous Bricks Holiday series of unofficial competitions.
All levels were designed by Sampsa Lahtonen.

Duration:

Bricks Holiday 15 will commence on May 31, 2022 and finish on August 31. Intermediate results will be collected on July 1 and July 31. All deadlines will be at 23:59 German Time (UTC+2). Please send me your .brk file before each deadline. (In the past, a number of players have had problems contacting me by e-mail; mostly because many copies of my e-mail address are obfuscated due to spambots prowling the Internet, but sometimes for other reasons. If you are worried you might have this problem, test things well before the deadline so any issues can be identified in time. Sending me more than one update a month is a handy way to do this.)

Some intermediate statistics and rankings will be displayed on this site; after the competition, full results, rankings, solution history etc. will be added.

The levels can be downloaded here. Note that version 1.5.9 of Bricks for Windows, also included in the download, is required to handle the new elements correctly.

Scoring system:

Bonus points are calculated according to Marco's old method:
- green score = 7 points
- white score = 5 points
- yellow score = 4 points
- blue score = 3 points
- orange score (up to +49.99%) = 2 points
- orange score (up to +99.99%) = 1 point

At the end of the competition, the player with most bonus points is declared the champion. In case of a tie, all players tied for first will be champions; no tie-break rules will be applied in such situations.

Additional rules:

In case of a tie on moves, the level record will go to:

1. The tied player with least steps
2. The tied player with least records
3. The tied player with most competition points
4. The tied player with most regular points

This competition is for individual players only - no teams will be allowed. During the competition, players are not allowed to give any hints that might help other players estimate their performance (including but not limited to hints about their scores on a level or group of levels, posting or indicating their total score, commenting on any non-"no brainer" feature of any level, etc.)

Do not apply computer solvers to any level, partial level or modified level.

Designer's notes:

I tried to mostly design short, fun and easy levels that would be accessible to as many players as possible. There are also a few evil levels included, of course :) I'll leave it as an exercise to the players to find out which ones those are. Optimization difficulty should be slightly lower compared to my previous competitions. Although there are some relatively long levels in this set, the overall WR will be well over 46000 again.

Thanks to everyone whose levels inspired my designs! Just as in BH4, BH8 and BH11, I have shamelessly stolen ideas from quite a few players - up to and including myself...

Good luck to all players, and have fun! :)
